Di Matteo's "Do or Die"

So, it is always helpful when you restart blogging for it to coincide with the Champions League Final! Tonight sees Roberto Di Matteo's reinvigorated Chelsea take on the four-times European Champions Bayern Munich, bizarrely in Munich, with Roman Abramovich hoping to obtain for what to him is his 'Holy Grail', and Roberto Di Matteo hoping to keep his job.
It is without question that Chelsea have more than excelled in the Champions League under Di Matteo, from that victorious come back at Stamford Bridge against Napoli to the incredible rear-guard action that saw them victors against the mighty Barcelona. To all those who still say that Chelsea did not deserve to win that particular tie, I beg to differ, not many teams can escape the cauldron that is the Nou Camp with a result, despite having ten-men for two-thirds of the game. But their impressive awe-inspiring run may not be enough to secure Di Matteo the full-time job.
Chelsea's league form has been edgy all season, a season that has seen them finish in fifth place. This means that should Chelsea fail to win the Champions League, they will be competing in the Europa League next season, and therefore substantially reducing the possibility that the former MK Dons boss takes full control at the Bridge. Unless of course, they do what was thought to be unthinkable just a few months ago.
Chelsea are sure-fire underdogs for tonights battle, not just in terms of the bookmakers but those whom they have available to them in relation to playing staff. Ramires, Ivanovic and Meireless have been central to Chelsea reaching this stage of the competition, and they will be huge losses for the Blues, not forgetting to mention their captain John Terry, whose idiocracy rules him out for redemption of the Champions League Final penalty miss in Moscow four years ago.
Di Matteo's selection for tonight however not only determines the possibility of Chelsea being the first side from London to win the highest European accolade, not only the prospect of Ambramovich getting his recumpences for the petty millions he has spent on the South-West London club, but determines whether or not he will be in charge of Chelsea for the start of  next season; it truly is Do or Die
