Something is not right at Stamford Bridge. With the departure of Ray Wilkins seemingly leaving a void on the Chelsea bench Ancelotti has been quoted as saying that he has no control at Chelsea. Off the field dilemas are obviously affecting first team performances, with three defeats from the last four games, as a friend of mine put it:
Everything just looks a bit fishy
Puppetier or the Puppet? |
Birmingham however did put up a good showing against the blues, with Lee Boyer slamming home after an untracked run from the middle of the field. Ben Foster was, without doubt, the best player on the park with a string of fantastic saves to deny Drogba, Kalou and Ivanovic. On a different day perhaps Chelsea may have won the game, but Birmingham took all three points in what could pivotal in the title race.
The North London Derby did not fail to disappoint; with what can only be described as an inspirational comeback from Tottenham. This result, as Harry Redknapp put it, illustrates just how open the premier league is this season. A standout performer from this game, Jermaine Defoe. The Half-time substitute swung the pendulum for Tottenham in what was a diabolic first half performance.
Johann Elmader is in great form at the moment for Bolton |
Wayne Rooney made his return to Old Trafford football, no goals, but he really should have buried a sitter in the dying embers of the game. Both red cards were correct from the referee incidently. West Ham continue to struggle after they slumped to defeat in Merseyside whilst Man City turned up the style against Fulham in a 4-1 thrashing. Blackburn took 3 points at home to Villa, with Pires making a return to English Premier League football. There were wins for Blackpool and a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing of the Baggies, who seem to going through a drop form, by Stoke City.
Nice one Peter. Maz has started a blog y'know. :)
